common questions
1. I am happy I found you, but I don’t even know where to begin….
Our first meeting is always free, so don’t worry if you’re not sure exactly where to start or how to move forward, that’s why you called. Our first conversation will involve introductions and explanations of my approach. I’ll use the meeting to understand your goals, as well as your obstacles. Within a week, I’ll send you my written proposal with both a timeline and costs, as well as a contract. Please know, I will never judge you or take your trust in me lightly, your confidence and privacy are my main focus.
2. I’m afraid you will make me part with more than I am ready to give away. Then what?
I promise we will make it work. I will never judge you or the things you choose to keep or toss. If something serves your space as well as your life, keep it! There will be some things that you simply no longer use or need. In other cases, we can find ways to shrink the required space. Shrink? Yes, shrink! For example, I work with a local firm that can take all your bulky family photo albums, boxes, and disks of old photos and digitize them into the cloud or onto a memory stick for safekeeping.
My network of providers makes any size project doable. With the help of their services, we can consign valuables and clothing, make responsible donations, and create storage and efficiently designed closets.
3. I know I should have contacted you sooner, and now I’m on a tight deadline. When can we start?
I have a great team and we can move as fast as you need.
4. How much will my home organizational project cost?
Every project is different. I will visit you virtually or in your home or office, discuss your objectives for the project, perhaps take some pictures and measurements, and get back to you with a proposal based on my assessment of the time and steps involved in completing your project. Rest assured, everything will be spelled out in the proposal so you can determine the scope of the work and how much you’d like to be involved.
5. I’ve been dreaming about this for what feels like forever! Now that I’m ready, how long will it take?
Every project is unique. After we’ve met and I’ve had a chance to assess your project, I can give you an estimate of time. Projects can take anywhere from one day to several weeks, or longer. I always work to keep the momentum going, whether that’s working with you, your family, or on my own. I know you are very eager to see the end result and feel the rewarding benefits of your renewed space.
6. How can I keep my space (and family) from not returning to its original chaos?
You will be so excited and proud of your new organized, functional and streamlined space that you will never want to go back! However, I understand your fear. As an elementary school teacher (and mom), I enjoy involving the entire family in this process and sharing different tricks and lessons to make sure everyone in your home is invested in living and working in a new way. I am often asked to come back for a “tune up” and I am always happy to do so. I’ll bring the coffee.
